Data Policy
This Data Policy summarizes the practical data boundaries used by LaoZhang API for API content, metadata, billing, accounts and support.

Operational boundary: API prompts and responses are not stored by default. Necessary metadata, billing records, account records and support materials are retained only for defined operational, security, legal and customer support purposes.
1. API prompt and response content
Stored by LaoZhang API: No, by default.
Retention by LaoZhang API: Not applicable by default.
Use: API content is transmitted only to process your request and return the result.
Sharing: API content is transmitted to the upstream AI model provider and infrastructure providers necessary for processing. Upstream providers may apply their own data processing, logging, abuse monitoring and retention rules.
2. Request metadata
Stored by LaoZhang API: Yes.
Examples: account or API key identifier, timestamp, model, endpoint, route, token or usage amount, request status, error category, latency, billing unit and routing information.
Retention: generally 7 days for troubleshooting logs, unless a longer period is reasonably necessary for security, abuse investigation, billing dispute, legal compliance or service integrity.
Use: billing, usage display, troubleshooting, rate limiting, capacity planning, routing reliability, security and abuse prevention.
3. Billing and transaction records
Stored by LaoZhang API: Yes.
Examples: credit purchases, balance changes, payment status, amount, currency, invoice details, transaction identifier, refund or chargeback information and limited payment method details supplied by payment processors.
Retention: retained as required for accounting, tax, payment dispute, anti-fraud and legal compliance purposes.
Sharing: payment processors, financial service providers, professional advisers and authorities where required.
4. Account and security data
Stored by LaoZhang API: Yes.
Examples: email address, account settings, company or team details, authentication data, API key identifiers, IP address, user agent, login events and security events.
Retention: retained while the account is active and for a reasonable period after closure for backup, security, dispute and legal purposes.
Use: account operation, authentication, API key management, security, abuse prevention and service notices.
5. Support materials
Stored by LaoZhang API: Yes, when you provide them.
Examples: support messages, screenshots, error reports, diagnostic details and files that you choose to send to us.
Retention: retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve requests, maintain support history, handle disputes and improve support quality.
Recommendation: do not send secrets, API keys, passwords, regulated data or sensitive personal information in support messages unless specifically requested through a secure channel.
6. User responsibility
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to transmit data to LaoZhang API and upstream AI model providers, and that your use complies with applicable privacy, data protection, cybersecurity, export control and cross-border transfer requirements.
You should minimize personal data in API requests, de-identify or anonymize data where possible, and avoid transmitting sensitive or regulated data unless you have a valid legal basis and appropriate safeguards.
